| There is no such thing as a J-Spec gearset. Stock gearbox is super strong. The differences between the 98+ series four transmission and series 1-3 transmission are 1. Brass synchros
2. Cast Iron fork
3. Improved selector gate If you want to upgrade the gearset you could look at this helical synchro gearset from PPH here in AUS [ http://www.ppgearbox.com.au/page.asp?productid=61 ] -retains synchromesh but stronger gears and options to upgrade to billet selector forks and main shaft. Straight cut dog gear set, billet selector forks, optional billet main shaft... My approach would be to leave it stock until it breaks, and then look at upgrading as required.
